  1. Very good tone mapping. Looks almost surreal. That fog is probably covering too much, on the other hand it gives this special mood.

  2. hmmm, I’d say if anything the fog is too thin ;-)

It uses the exact same settings as the exterior shots btw.

  3. Stefanie

Peter, you have truly embraced Vray fog!!

    They are lovely as always!

I guess in a house with inclined walls like that you can’t really choose to have pictures on the wall but at least the landscape makes up for it..:-)

  4. Having views like that would be incredible, good job. Is the vray fog constrained by geometry?

  5. alvarez

very good job and nice renders as always i really like you job light and atmosphere

can you explain how the scene is lighting? hdri ?

so very nice job congratulation and very nice blog

    best regards

  6. Vuk Djordjevic

Great work and great lighting there is only one thing that bug’s me and that is the trees in the 2nd image they look like a flat plane mapped with the environment image. For this one did you use only 1 light source or ?

  7. thanks everyone,

Just 1 hdri doing the lighting, and all trees are 3d.

  8. liberado

very clean , i really like atmosphere.

    congrats

    only vraylightdome with HDRI?

    thx

  9. patrick anderson

looking forward to the tutorial mate…..fantastic images as always!

  10. Hey Peter, is the HDRi you used one of yours available at 3DOcean or is there one you can recommend to produce a similar type of subtle lighting?

  11. Final small picture is, excellent, Straight clean, and very subtly..I greet.

  12. @ma yep, it was 1008 cloudy:

    thanks Patrick and arch515

  13. Cheers Peter, was looking at 0902 but appears that 1008 gives a bit more warmth.

    Hi Peter,

    Once again great job!
Best thing in this project imo is the architecture and the way you capture it. Not only the mood is awesome but also the camera/composition views/angles.

Who is the designer of that red chair? Is it Charles Eames? If you put that one on 3docean ill buy it hehe. Or is there someplace where i can get it for free?

    Cheers

  15. The red chair was designed by Hans Wegner, its called the three legged chair I think.

I bought it from Bertrand’s turbosquid store, http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/hans-wegner-ch-07-3d-max/504075

  16. michel

    Amazing, Inspiring! As always.

I wonder if I can byu these excellent books somewhere? (3docean, turbosquid…)

And the glass: is it fallof on single plane object? Looking forward your tutorial. Thx.

  17. Hey michel I think Peter mentioned that he got them from Bertrand Benoit, you might want to check out his blog: http://bbb3viz.com/ there are often links to the models he posts on there.

  18. Wow men, I thought I was in an architectural website and this image was real until I read some of the comments. Nice rendering work men. Keep it up! I hope you post some tips or tutorials on how you do this kind of quality work.

  19. Oh sorry about my last comment, I just found out that you do have tutorials on this site. Keep it up! Thanks for sharing!

  20. dzejdzej

    hello,

which hdri did u use in allandale_dusk version?

  21. hey !

    your blog is absolutely awesome!
I am actually learning 3ds these days reading your tutorials and other books and video tutorials.
I am trying to practice modeling and rendering this house this week for practice (OK, I guess it might require a lot more time than I expect)…
Quick question: how did you actually model the books? any tricks ? This detail is fascinating…

    Thanks,
    N

  22. Hi Peter.

Love your work and to follow your blog. I wonder if you remember who made the ‘living room’ table - the one with the crossed legs?

    best regards, Rasmus

  23. Wow great spot!

  24. Hi, Peter!!! Amazing stuff, very helpful blog. Just wanted to ask do you build your whole model in 3ds or do you use some other program?

  25. Hi ani,

I normally use sketchup to model architecture.

  26. very nice 3d model software i am useing this one thanks

  27. simone

  28. Hi,

Just wondering if you bought the Grasshopper lamp model or model it yourself?

Still hoping for a making-of Allandale.
